At 18, my childhood friend walked onto a path that our friend group had never imagined he would ever have to choose for. Only after his passing did we learn about his suffering from depression.
Depression touches all of us, and we don’t even always know it. Ten years ago, I could not (and still cannot) imagine my childhood friend’s daily struggles and the feeling that he could not share them with us. I then wrote:
We all take different paths in life, but no matter where we go, we take a little of each other everywhere. No matter where your path led you, my dearest friend, our friendship will last forever, and I will never forget you.
His path is irreversible, but the paths we take in his memory are endless. This year, I dedicate MY path to raising awareness for mental health care by starting this action for the MIND foundation. In the next two months, I will run the following contests:
